Thoughts on a 9 Marks Weekender

For fifteen years, Mark Dever has been conducting “Weekenders” (Thursday through Monday) to teach and demonstrate the 9 Marks of a Healthy Church to interested men from around the world. I just attended my first and came away refreshed and revitalized for my local church to continue to proclaim the Gospel and represent Christ in our community. I appreciated the emphasis on meaningful church membership, discipleship, and true expositional preaching. I observed church leaders praying fervently (and efficiently) for church members and a congregation to whom church was more than place you went to hear somebody speak. What I saw and heard were things that I had been looking for in a church for nearly 40 years.
