Jets release Tim Tebow

There are tons of evangelicals in the NFL, including Rusty Smith, who attends Tebow’s church (or used to attend when he and Tebow lived in Jacksonville) and - gasp - is also a quarterback who - gasp gasp - can actually throw the football and run an offense in the way that the NFL requires. Tebow was merely the only one that was elevated by the popular Christian culture, and that speaks negatively of said culture.

Solo Christo, Soli Deo Gloria, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Sola Scriptura http://healtheland.wordpress.com

I like the guy. He seems to be one of the most genuine, humble, believers who have had a major platform in the sports world. (Not perfect, I’ve seen some pictures of him in some compromising situations…) Also, I get that his mechanics may be sketchy at best, but the guy has produced on the football field. I would like to see what he could do if given the opportunity again…

Relax Job, that was tongue-in-cheek

Like him or not, you can’t question Tebow’s drive on and off the field. Over the past few years he has become a lightning rod on ESPN. It is sad to see the naysayers run all over him and disparage his name… and in the end it is just because they do not like his transparency when it comes to his relationship with Jesus Christ.

Is he NFL material? Up to this point the only opportunities that he has had to prove it have turned out pretty well for his team (Broncos). I hope someone picks him up and gives him a chance.

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Though he is the most popular player in the NFL, every NFL team apparently passed on him, not even willing to trade a 7-round draft pick for him. That is a lot of smart people who know football inside and out. Tebow seems like a great guy but seriously, the general consensus of real experts (not armchair quarterbacks) is that he is not NFL material, regardless of what happened in a few games with the Broncos.

…really? You are going to call me an armchair quarterback? I’m going to call you an armchair piano player.

hahaha Just kidding. This is DJ, Lisa’s brother. Hope things are going well.
