Chicago Magazine: The Five Most Revolting Details from the Evidence in the Jack Schaap Case

I hope their new Pastor takes the church in a better direction. I have seen some internet chatter from die-hard anti-Hyles folks already criticizing the man, but hopefully the new Pastor will set a more Biblical course.
I wouldn’t think the Pastor has direct leadership responsibilities over the Bible College, but I could be wrong. If the new Pastor does go in a different direction, might a rift open between the church and the school?

Why wouldn’t the pastor have direct leadership responsibilities over the college?
Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?
Maybe their arrangement is to keep things separate? Maybe it isn’t. Not sure. Surely somebody is in charge of day to day operations at the college. If that somebody is also the Pastor of the church, it seems a bit too much for one man. Anyway, I wish the new Pastor the best.

This PDF has the details:

- Board of Trustees (on p 40) (Looks like there may be 100 of them)
- Administration (p 11)
- Officers of the College, Faculty, & Staff (p 23)
It looks like the new Pastor is the Chancellor and another man is the President of the college. If the new Pastor seeks to take the church in a more Biblical direction, I pray he’ll be able to navigate these tricky waters. He’ll have rough waters ahead of him. Unless he’s prepared to continue towing the same line, this was not an easy Pastorate to take.

If that were the very first thing he did, the FBCH ship may end up like this …

No Pastor takes a ministry in a new direction until it exercises godly sorrow that leads to repentance and clears itself of its past direction (see 2 Corinthians 7:9-11).
The FBCH ship is already aground, listing, and submerged. The new pastor has the unenviable task of attempting to right it and/or to salvage what can be salvaged. If Penn State can remove the Paterno statue promptly, FBCH can remove the Hyles statue. Given the truth of his marriage and home life, the statue of he and his wife together is an obscenity.
Which one did you have in mind … !

are the deacons for FBC—same cats. The pastor of FBC has complete control of HAC—he can basically have his way there. Same is true at their other schools like Hammond Baptist Elementary School, Hammond Baptist Junior High, and Hyles High.

The remaining sheeple at FBC revere Jack Hyles and do not believe the scuttlebutt. They are throwing Jack Jr under the bus readily and many are stating a longing for the good ole days with Jack Sr. The new pastor is off to a less than great start. He has enjoyed more than one standing ovation from the sheeple in Hammond already, has auctioned off some of his ties at a fundraiser, and has put his blessing upon sending Eddie Lapina (who did nothing but stand idly by when Dave Hyles, Jack Hyles, and Jack Schaap caused great damage to the people of FBC) and his wife to Hawaii for keeping things going at the church while Jack Jr had been fired. Nothing has changed, IMHO and it is doubtful anything will ever change. These sheeple have been brainwashed for so long that they don’t know what truth is anymore. Sad.
