Pastors who pack heat

This one does. Compact 9mm.

And I know several more who do as well. Of course, we do live in the wild, wild West.

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

Don’t have my CCL. So the heat is cased.

But I’m a proud owner of one of these …

(Not good at shooting it yet though. Small lightweight large caliber = lots of recoil… but even inaccurate shooting is a whole lot of fun.)

Aaron,

The picture didn’t come through, what kind of gun is it?

Nice thing right now in AZ, you don’t need a CCL to carry concealed. I plan to take the class anyway for safety’s sake (both legal and physical), but it is nice to know we don’t have to ask the government permission to “bear arms” literally.

Not only does the Pastor , but also the deacons and several ladies as well;)

Mr Bailey

This pastor has three handguns of various caliber and five long guns including a newly-built (by me) AR15. My wife just passed her CCL course and she will shortly become a pistol-packin’ Proverbs 31 woman. And I have been (not-publicly) known to pack in public, at church and in the office. I’m also a card-carrying member of the NRA.

I LOVE my 2nd Amendment rights.

You know, thinking about rights is just selfish and unChristian. ;)

I know he has passed the Conceal Carry class?

I don’t ask, he isn’t saying.

I wish we had laws like AZ, Chip Van Emmerik , I do not like the notion that I must get permission from the government to use my 2nd Amendment rights.

NRA is too liberal for me. They helped stop a vote on Constitutional Carry here in Iowa. I’m a Gun Owners of America guy.

We don’t really know if he did or not, do we?

We do know he didn’t use one… but he did use his rights (Acts 22:25, 25:11)

Most likely he could not afford a sword. Most people could not afford them after seeing to higher priorities. (But what good is a sword against a mob anyway? Seems like whenever Paul ticked people off he did it dozens or hundreds at a time! :D )

(Farmer Tom… all rights are regulated by law. There’s nothing anti-constitutional about administering Amendment 2 carefully… though it’s certainly overdone in some places.)

Funny thing… Rembrandt seemed to think that at least once Paul packed a sword. (Either that he was up to some symbolism)— a big ol’ two-handed one, no less.

Jesus said, “He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.” ( Luke 22:36)

The Roman short sword was state-of-the-art self defense at the time of Christ on Earth. Fast forward to 2012: doesn’t that mean we have a Scriptural imperative to go out and buy a Sig 9MM, or a Glock 40? ;-)

Psa 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

One of the jobs of the shepherd is to protect the flock. The instruments of protection should bring comfort to those in the fold.
