"The message is that Dearborn Law enforcement will turn the other way when violence is inflicted on non-Muslims"

The Apostle Paul got arrested as he preached the gospel, but his goal was to reach others with the truth of God’s word, not to incite a riot or to get arrested. Based on the statements that were made by the preacher before attending this event, it seems like his goal was to get arrested. That sounds like the wrong purpose for showing up at an event like this.

See David Wood’s take: http://www.answeringmuslims.com/ See the most current article about the attempted murder charges brought against one Muslim and his post from last week mentioning Rueben Israel in Dearborn.

His outline about the decent of Dearborn into Dhimmnitude is here: http://www.answeringmuslims.com/p/dearborn.html

The comment about police officers telling him off record about honor killings happening in the city which are downplayed by city officials is extremely disturbing.

Here’s some better coverage:

Christian missionary group with pig’s head taunt Arab-Americans at Dearborn festival

Honestly, when you want to bring the gospel, first figure out which kingdom you serve. Give up your nationalism. I’m glad that not every Christian was as bad as the ones that made the news by provoking a response with their disruptive nationalistic protest and then claiming ‘persecution’:

Other missionaries at the festival were less confrontational, handing out fliers telling Muslims to convert and handing out free Christian books.

One wore a T-shirt that read ”I (heart symbol) Muslims” while handing out fliers that urged Muslims to ”accept the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Did you bother to read David Wood’s article, particular the timeline of events happening in Dearborn every year since 2008 or so?

A pig head on a stick is not warrant to incite violence against protesters, especially attempting murder against the protesters. We may not like the image of some alleged street preacher taunting Muslims with a pig head on a stick, but it shows an severe cultural defeciency if one can’t simply ignore the guy with the pig head on a stick.

Contrast that with the Mormon’s annual convention. Reuben and his clown show go there and shake Mormon underwear at the missionaries lined up to go into their meetings. To my knowledge, no Mormons have attempted to murder any of them by running their SUVs over them. Additionally, to my knowledge, no police have arrested anti-Mormon protesters like they have the anti-Muslim protesters.

That is a good point Fred and gives strong support to the point that Islam is NOT a peaceful religion. At the same time, we need to point out the sins of the confrontational street preachers as we also point out the sins of Islam. In fact, we especially need to hold professing Christians accountable becasue they are doing what they are doing in the name of Christ. Sadly it looks like they are trying to draw attention to their cause rather than bring glory to God.

I don’t trust David Wood’s take very much. Nowhere in the Bible is there an example of evangelism by aggressive protest. When someone provokes a response from some kids, then selectively edits the video and claims ‘persecution’, they have earned their reward – their 15 minutes of fame. Absolutely nothing positive was accomplished for the Kingdom of God.

“Christian? Missionaries?” Bring Message of Hatred to Arab Festival

FWIW, for those of us who live in this area and have a desire to see the Gospel spread here, this kind of stuff is very unhelpful. Over the past few years it seems to have become popular to show up, cause trouble, then make a name for yourself by boasting about persecution either by the police or the Muslim crowds. There is nothing commendable about these foolish tactics.
