Sorry... more politics: Tim LaHaye endorses Newt Gingrich

I’m not sure who this move hurts most…. Gingrich or LaHaye.
(Is it just me or is the whole GOP primary process a lot weirder this time around?)

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I have become increasingly disenchanted with Gingrich, who does not appear to be a man of integrity. His shameless attacks upon Romney’s Bain success indicates Gingrich will say and do anything he thinks will help him win. For me, all it has done is give me a more favorable opinion of Romney.

The LaHaye endorsement does nothing to help Gingrich as far as I’m concerned. On the contrary, it only lessens my opinion of LaHaye.

As a firmly committed “undecided” SC voter LaHaye has single-handly confirmed my antipathy about Gingrich and thus narrowed my choices. Now if we can just get Mark Driscoll to endorse Romney and Harold Camping to endorse Ron Paul we can put Santorum over the top!

Very Funny!!!

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

but I was planning on voting for a rock since the primaries started. So far, there’s been nothing to make me want to change my mind on any of the candidates so far.

I’d vote for Jesus, but He’s already King of Kings and Lord of Lords, so that seems kind of like a demotion to me. ;)

Paul,

Maybe that’s going a little too far? Since he isn’t all we wish he would be, we wish he would actually be worse than he is?

I’m feeling bad for Tim LaHaye, now. I’ll say for him that I did enjoy the two and 1/10 volumes of the Left Behind series I read. I wasn’t looking to get my theology from them. For me, novels are about fun and, when thoughtful, they’re about questions—not about answers.
I just didn’t have the patience to move that slowly through the Trib.

I’ve got another book by LaHaye that has nice charts and things in it (and you know all us Dispensationalists are just obsessed with charts).
I’m not sorry he’s a dispensationalist… but I do know that for the “neo-calvinist” crowd (and maybe some paleo-calvinists, too) LaHaye is kind of an icon of what they see as dispensationalist goofiness. So a sizable portion of the evangelical vote would not be impressed in a positive way by the endorsement.

Have to say, too, that though my dad was a vocal critic of http://www.amazon.com/Spirit-Controlled-Temperament-Tim-LaHaye/dp/08423…] the “four temperaments” idea that was the rage for a while when I was a kid, the impact of 4T on me was that it got wheels turning that greatly enhanced what little understanding I have of “people, and what makes them tick.” IOW, it sparked an interest in understanding people… and I have no innate knack for that, so that was valuable for me.
Sometimes, even non-fiction is more valuable for the questions it raises than for the answers it gives.

(BTW, think I would probably be mostly “phlegmatic”? I’ve certainly been dealing with a lot of phlegm lately.)

Yet one more reason to vote for Romney. For most of you, it won’t matter. After Romney storms SC and Florida, no one will have the funds to compete.
