Gallup Poll: Gay Marriage Supported by U.S. Majority for First Time

53% for 45% against “The Gallup poll found support for legal same-sex marriage to be higher among those who attend church less frequently, among Catholics than among Protestants, and among those who are unmarried.”

Discussion

In a few minutes, I am leaving with a carload of people for the New York State Capital for the “Mayday For Marriage” rally where we will attempt to sound out the truth about God’s institution of marriage.

Who knows for sure what to make of the polls. I would not be surprised if Rasmussen came out w/results that say the opposite. But it does appear that the trend is toward losing this fight. In most cases, states continue to pass marriage protection measures where they come before the people as referenda or amendments, but the win margins seem to be shrinking… and a few of these efforts have failed now (though I can’t remember where. Something failed here in WI not long ago but I vaguely remember that there were complications with how the measure was worded. People did not really get a straight shot at issue.)

In the linked article, Mohler talks about getting ready to live in a society where these “marriages” are normal. He’s probably right, sadly.
Still, Joe, I’m glad you and others are not giving up the fight. People may criticize it as “politics” but this is about right and wrong. Since when are Christians supposed to be shy about declaring right from wrong?

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
