The article does not tell the whole story. That ad, supposedly by the “True Republicans,” is actually funded by Democrats, mainly the Alabama Education Association, with some help from at least one of Byrne’s Republican opponents in the primary.
Personally, as an Alabama voter, I wasn’t sure for whom to vote in the primary until this and the other “True Republican” ads blasting Byrne came along. If the liberals are that scared of a candidate that they will try to undermine his support in a GOP primary, that’s who I want to support.
