If I were Catholic, it would be very difficult, as it does appear that the current Pope is bent on undermining key parts of Catholic theology, but then any priest or bishop is bound to obey the Pope on various matters.

Put differently, makes me glad I'm a Protestant with Sola Scriptura and individual soul liberty. We have our messes, sure, but this one on the Catholic side is intractable.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

The Catholic Church is becoming more "catholic" than Roman, expanding & changing for the future.
