Bombshell alcohol study finds only risks, zero benefits for young adults

“People under the age of 40 start risking their health if they consume any more than two teaspoons of wine or two and a half tablespoons of beer per day, a new study suggests.” - Fortune

This is something many preachers have known for centuries. Perhaps we should raise the drinking age to 41; then maybe 90.

The safest thing for you and your influence is to stay away from beverage alcohol.

Oh, and the health benefits after 40 can be received from grapejuice, grapes, fruits, vegetables.

But this is a very interesting study.

….and what they’re saying is more or less what every cardiologist and every ER doctor in the world would have told you. The costs they listed are largely accidents (i.e. problems from getting seriously drunk),and regarding the known benefits for heart disease, they didn’t do a longitudinal study that would have addressed the question of whether wine when young impacts the risks of heart disease when older.

Regarding David’s proposal of raising the drinking age, Prohibition worked so well the first time we tried it, why not try it again? Honestly, David, don’t you remember that the last time we tried this, we created most of the organized crime in our country while setting a huge portion of Americans against their government?

Safest thing to do here is to do what the Bible actually says; if one chooses to enjoy God’s good gift of wine, use it in moderation. Same thing as with food, really.
