Liberty University has filed a civil lawsuit against its former leader, Jerry Falwell Jr., seeking tens of millions in damages after the two parted ways acrimoniously last year.

The complaint, filed Thursday in Lynchburg Circuit Court, alleges Falwell crafted a “well-resourced exit strategy” from his role as president and chancellor in the form of a lucrative 2019 employment agreement while withholding damaging information from the evangelical school about a personal scandal that would explode into public view the following year.

“Despite his clear duties as an executive and officer at Liberty, Falwell Jr. chose personal protection,” the lawsuit says.

Jim didn't they appoint Jr's Brother as the campus Pastor to. I don't know the reputation of Jr's Brother but I think the lawsuit is to little to late.  They also put Jerry Vines on the Executive Committee a Coconspirator of Paige Patterson in covering up for Gilyard's rape and pillage run.   If their trying to clean up their act and recover money I think their doing a lousy job. I may be wrong but I think they are going to loose students.  The school is still entwined with Trump and the Christian Right to.

In my opinion Liberty is like Masters.  They both are unwilling to really change and move into a more God Honoring direction. There is Victims of the Vines' cover ups out there and they are not happy about Liberty's move with Vines.  They see it as just another move to disrespect sex abuse victims in the Evangelical/Fundy Church world.

Now hear I go again.  If Liberty was smart they'd bring in BJU President Petit's Former Right Hand man that Masters stupidly wrongly fired.  At least use some common sense.  At least Petitt and his administration has a history of success moving beyond a scandal.  I don't think Pettit would be foolish enough to put Vines on his executive Committee. In fact I don't think anyone on SI would be that foolish.
