New Bible Features Removable Romans 13 For When You Don't Like The President

I hear John MacArthur got an advance copy of a new version of this Bible, tentatively titled “The Governor Edition,” and has used it to great effect!

The best thing about this new bible is that works for everyone! Don’t like President Trump? Remove and store it for later. Love President-elect Biden? Insert it back! Vice versa? Act accordingly!
No matter what theological camp you’re in, this Bible will work for you. It confirms whatever you wish to believe about politics, without judgment. Truly, this is a genius marketing move.

Have to remove 1 Peter 2:13-17 or you’re still compelled to obey governing authorities.
The article covers all this!

Government is to be a “diakonos” of God, meaning servant under God. It’s “exousia” is a delegated authority under the law of God. Government’s primary purpose is to reward moral good and punish moral evil as God defines morality. It has the power of the sword for this purpose alone. John Knox told the Queen that only Christ is Lord of the Kirk and that she should be a “nurse” to the people of God as opposed to a despot. That’s where JM is endeavoring to stand. He needs our support and prayers, not ridicule. His 50 plus years of faithfully expositing the Scriptures should cause you to hold back from your arrogant and mocking ridicule. Disagree with him if you will, but don’t display such hubris.

This is the kind of response you typically get from Baptist fundamentalists - touch not the Lord’s annointed. Above all, speak critique softly, passively, meekly. This is the FBFI way. But, I am a convergent (esp. pp. 12-14), so I suppose you should expect nothing less. To paraphrase Dan Unruh, I’m just an Absalom here to steal hearts …
I previously explained my issues with JMac’s position. JMac is wrong to encourage other churches, in completely different contexts, from signing his letter. He’s wrong to say there is no virus. He’s wrong to impugn the intentions and efforts of thousands of dedicated civil servants at local and State levels because he doesn’t like the CA Governor or LA County elected officials.
This is the man who preached the American Revolution was sinful because of Romans 13.
I am a pastor too, and I am certainly allowed to disagree with JMac about anything I wish. His actions are a disgrace. Dever’s approach is better. JMac’s choice of Jenna “Falkirk Center” Ellis (et al) for an attorney, and his appearances on Mataxas’ show and the other usual Religious Right suspect’s programs are unwise. His boasting and smirking about going to jail are silly.
Conservative evangelicalism’s marriage to Christian Nationalism and the Religious Right is just as much of a civil religion as the Left’s fascination with politics. It’s disgusting. When I have people showing up to church on Wednesdays in tears and unable to speak because they’re convinced that Biden will destroy us all and Trump has lost, then you have idolatry. People believe this because their Christian programming (and their Fox News programming) tell them it’s so. It’s awful. It’s sad. It’s spiritually destructive.
This deserves ridicule because people listen to JMac. They believe him. I had an elderly couple tell me, several months ago, that they were scared because of what “they” are doing to JMac’s church. They don’t know JMac brought this publicity upon himself, because like a politician he has sought it, cultivated it, asked for the press. They just believe if JMac says it, then it’s gotta be so. They trust him. And, he’s terrifying them. I have to deal with that. He’s meddling with the congregation where I serve, and he’s doing it in a destructive way. Shame on him.
But, none of this matters any longer. With this new Bible, JMac and others can now simply remove offending passages at will. Someone can store it away for him, so he can replace it in 2024 if Nikki Haley wins.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Respectful disagreement is one thing. Arrogant disdain is something else. Be careful how you treat those who have a long track record of godliness and Biblical fidelity. No man is perfect, Mac Arthur included. The way you talk about others may encourage some to treat you similarly. Let’s treat other believers with respect.
Tyler, I appreciate you. I admire your gifts and your commitment to God’s Word. I pray for you fairly often. I rejoice in your report that your church is growing during COVID. Please accept my words in the same spirit of love and appreciation from which they are spoken.

I appreciate it. I just don’t appreciate Mike’s suggestion that I ought not to poke fun at a policy I disagree with. If there is hubris here, I think there is an excellent case to be made that it’s coming out of Sun Valley … I have not asked pastors around the country to sign my article, or told the congregation the virus doesn’t exist! I’m just a nobody pastor in Olympia. But, people listen to JMac, and he knows it.

Hey, look at the bright side — you can swap those sections with JMac! Seeing as how you can’t possibly agree to submitting to a man you think is an idol, you clearly aren’t using those sections right now. If Biden becomes the president, you can get those sections from JMac on 1/20, reinstall them while he no longer needs them, and then in 2024, if Nikki Haley gets in, you can send them back to him. Problem solved!

Yes, as I said, that’s the beauty of this Bible. I’m just amazed it took so long for something like it to come out! 1000% genius, all the way around. Everybody wins.
