It is a blessing to hear the local church defended - I’m surprised that Straub would take the passage from Timothy out of context like that.
There is so many things up in the air as far as institutions, education, etc. that it makes sense to plow efforts back into the local church.
This also makes it important for local churches to influence institutions. I’m always concerned when I see institutions lose touch with their constituencies, which unfortunately, we have seen a lot in the last few years (e.g. Pillsbury).
