House Democrats Use SPLC 'Hate Groups' List to Argue Conservative Non-Profits Should Lose Tax-Exempt Status

“According to Faithwire, ‘hate groups’ identified were mainly socially conservative organizations, such as the Family Research Council, the Federation for American Immigration Reform and the American Family Association.” - Christian Headlines

Discussion

Judging by political rhetoric these days, large portions of both major political parties ought to qualify as hate groups. But that said, using the SPLC’s list really is to take one group’s bias and apply it to government. Dangerous precedent, to put it mildly. And worse yet would be to use government bureaucrats’ view, since they gain their income from government—and hence they’re not exactly an impartial source, either.

Maybe go back to….actually punishing people for crimes, instead of going to guilt by association?

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
