Mystery Blogger Pins the Tale (and Horns) on Dr Bauder

In Defense of Independent Fundamental Baptists Seems to be satirizing another site!

Discussion

It’s hard to parody stuff that is already a parody of itself.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I can’t tell if such a site is a fundamentalist making fun of Bauder, or if it is a non-fundamentalist pretending to be a fundamentalist making fun of Bauder. Seems like one of those toasts by Dean Martin where your friends make fun of you.

Very funny. I promise you’ll have some that will never get the point.

It’s got a link to Stuff Fundies Like (renamed “Stuff We Like”) so I’d have to say it’s probably a non-fundy doing it. Could go either way, though.

The video “Well-Reasoned Arguments On the Translation Issue” at http://www.stufffundieslike.com/ makes me physically ill.
Sadly, I have seen this type and level of discourse used in other areas in places which are closer to home than we might like to admit.

Didn’t do anything for me. Not impressed.

"The Midrash Detective"

Complete waste of time.

YES! YEEEESSS! AMEN! HAL-LE-LOU- JAH !!

Unworthy of a link.

Things That Matter

As the quantity of communication increases, so does its quality decline; and the most important sign of this is that it is no longer acceptable to say so.--RScruton

On the positive side, Dr. Bauder should be complemented that his influence makes him noticed. I really enjoy his articles — a real SI highlight.

"The Midrash Detective"

So long as we don’t cross the line into personal attacks or anything. Count me not only unimpressed, but disappointed. Would this have been run, if it was a parody of “in the nick of time”? Just sayin’

I understand you guys not enjoying the deal. The humor I saw is by way of irony.

Thanks to all those who have expressed their disappointment in running this filing - you’ve made me think about it. Thank you for sharpening my iron!

"Our task today is to tell people — who no longer know what sin is...no longer see themselves as sinners, and no longer have room for these categories — that Christ died for sins of which they do not think they’re guilty." - David Wells

Just to be clear (because we’ll probably be accused), neither I nor anyone on the SI team created the site (as far as I know).

I’m outraged that some of you expressed outrage over the link that expressed outrage over Kevin Bauder’s article that detailed his outrage over those who express outrage about Conservative Evangelicalism but not Fundamentalism. Unless you were mocking the post which was mocking the outrage that others expressed over Kevin Bauder’s article, which I don’t believe was mockery.
