It was almost two years ago that I wrote about my concerns over Bible literacy classes in public schools.

You are exactly right. Germany has state religious education, and while students may gain biblical literacy, it does come with a heavy dose of propaganda that points out the hypocrisy of the church as well as pointing out biblical “fallacies.” The concern is very real that students may exit the instruction with their faith even less intact than whatever they had before.

If we want to know what state sponsored Bible education would look like, just listen to state sponsored “prayer.” I may be being a little judgmental here, but most examples I’ve heard are just plain blasphemous.
