Porn still dominates the Internet
If you look at the actual list, only five of the top fifty websites are “adult”. How does this translate to “porn dominates the Internet”, exactly? It’s big, but not dominant. Worth noting as well is that all of the top five sites—Google, YouTube, Facebook, Amazon, and (wow) Yahoo—actually employ teams of people to remove objectionable content. Just read an article about an intern at Google whose job it was to police the smut—not surprisingly, it wasn’t one he could do for long.
Really, I’d argue that this list is really, really good news, because what it says is that the monetization of the Internet is now primarily through legitimate content, not porn. The major down side is that I’m told that a lot of the slide in porn revenues is due to people putting things out there for free. That’s one reason the “top five” actively police their content, sad to say.

…if you were able to compare sales, I’m thinking that pornhub << google, to put it mildly. To draw a picture, the wiki article on #6 states that someone offered just $120 million for it back in 2012. Not much in comparison with Google, to put it mildly.
It doesn’t mean that smut is dead, but I dare suggest that they’re not pulling the revenue they would need to keep and expand business. It’s good.
