I have profited from the ministry of Jerry Bridges. After reading Pursuit of Holiness, I had the privilege to hear him speak. He was so quiet and low key that my first impression was, “this is going to be a long, dry session.” After a few more words, I was hooked. Every word was pure gold.

I was able to converse with him, and his second wife (I believe her name was Jane), who was quite a bit younger than he. My impression is that Jerry Bridges was a genuinely humble and godly man. His ministry has been blessed of God and had a far reaching impact which will likely continue for many years. If you have time to read only one of his books, I would recommend Trusting God Even When Life Hurts. I have read it several times, and distributed it to many others. It’s a classic!
