I have a feeling that as the wider culture collapses into post-secularism, evangelicals will realize how much the fundamentalists got right in terms of not compromising and ways to fail in cultural engagement.
I agree with Shayne. There are times I wonder if historic fundamentalism’s battle for the truth against apostasy and liberalism has been forgotten in the fog of their battles with other Christians.

To some extent I agree here. I was at Shepherds’ Conference last month and heard Phil Johnson say this very thing in a breakout session. Its worth a listen. While he takes a few shots at fundamentalists (some of them justified), he does much more to praise them and calls on evangelicals to consider how much the fundamentalists got right.
