Apology to MBBC and Larry Oats

SI gang,

In trying to defend my friend Matt Olson and NIU - I may have wounded my friend Larry Oats and MBBC,

I’m horrified! I was trying to have fun with reasons why NIU is a great place and in the botched attempt at humor I noted MBBC’s win in B-Ball over NIU - and said Larry was still “bragging about it at the summer FBF meeting.” Well - it dawned on me later and again today - that my having fun with that had missed! I asked the post to be removed but the damage was already done. I love Larry and he in no way was being rude to NIU - he was just happy his team won. I can see now my “off the cuff” comment placed Larry in less than a pleasant light. I love Larry for multiple reasons, one of which is his stellar character and love for his sister ministries and schools. Wowzers! - My deepest apologies to my friends (now probably former friends) in Watertown, WI. Larry please forgive me my brother for being careless. My deepest apology to the MBBC family which is stretched all over the globe. I think we have more MBBC grads in our church than any other fundamentalist school (other than IBC) - which means I’ll probably hear about this tonight - at small group and then again on Sunday - at church!
