adoption
Forum category
I’ve mostly been posting daily adoption progress on FB, but I did want to let you all know that we have turned in all our paperwork and the home visit is tomorrow. It’s sort of a formality as it’s not actually where we live, just where Vitaliy is legally registered as living (an apartment of a church family), but we’d appreciate your prayers that all continue to go quickly.
The church couple let Vitaliy register there (it makes him a legal owner basically) so we could pursue this adoption, and now they would like to sell the apt soon, but we think Vitaliy needs to stay registered there until after the court hearing where Paul becomes our legal child, so we are trying to get this all done ASAP, so as not to create complications for them.
Anyway, it’s been more than an adventure! sometimes it’s been living in a comedy movie, sometimes living in the Soviet Union, and sometimes thinking I am insane …
Anyway, home visit tomorrow! We’re moving forward! Thanks for praying!

(at least i think that’s the way it’s transliterated)
Praise the Lord for the progress. :)

Hoping to shed more light than heat..
i had no idea. Wonderful! Is the story behind the adoption on your blog? (Can’t remember the address….)
we had another little roadblock today. The regional office doesn’t want to approve our living situation b/c we don’t own our own apt and a few other details. Pray that we’ll get it resolved quickly and have wisdom about how to go about this. We don’t really want to pay money “under the table,” and it’s sort of a game :) Pray that God will turn our hearts and give us faith to pursue what He wants.
