Really.
I would hardly call this showing a lack of respect for the office of President of the United States.
This post was about a TV program that coincidentally has Satan vaguely resembling Barack Obama. That’s funny - it’s humorous — and it’s twice as funny when people with little or no God-given sense of humor take it seriously.
I didn’t see the resemblance either. Dr. Spock, yes. Obama? Not as much.
I think this is a manufactured tempest in a teapot designed to sell clicks or papers, and that’s about it.

Frankly, we need to exercise more respect for our president. This doesn’t belong on SI.
It only discusses how some non-Christians (the Mormon Glenn Beck, a tabloid in Great Britain plus some liberal publications who are likely using this to claim that people who actually care enough about the Bible to make a TV show about it simply have to be racist) are making this strange claim. This story is far more negative towards the people who are propagating it than it is towards Obama. Especially since this actor in question has played the devil in several religious movies and TV shows prior to this one, which is likely why he was hired in the first place.
By the way, I am fully capable of obeying Romans 13:1-4 and 1 Timothy 2:1-2 with respect to Obama while still despising him for being an utterly wicked and despicable human being, just as Peter and Paul clearly did concerning Herod, the high priest and the Roman emperor (many or all of whom were persecuting and trying to kill them and the church at the time!) when they wrote it. I simply do not like the man, and moreover I wonder about anyone who does. In any event, my feelings towards Obama has nothing to do with the fact that this actor really only slightly resembles him.
