Both experience and Scripture reveal that “evil” (which I’m taking in the sense of “sin” here) is often subtle, small, and mixed with good as seen from a merely human point of view… and is only rarely “frightening.”

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

NewRepresenting evil

To be Biblical, a character representing evil should be blindingly beautiful, subtle, and a talented wordplayer. The distorted, slobbering, shuffling villain is probably mentally ill and in need of professional help. Unless the Vatican is thinking White Hats vs Black Hats - as if evil wears a uniform. Where would they get those anyway?
