Dr. Sam Horn Hired by Bob Jones University

“On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, Dr. Sam Horn informed the board of trustees that he accepted Dr. Steve Pettit’s invitation to serve as Vice President of Ministerial Advancement as well as the Dean of the Seminary and School of Religion at Bob Jones University beginning in January, 2015.”

Discussion

I had Dr. Horn in undergrad at NIU, and I always thought that he wind up back at BJU in some aspect down the road. I’m happy for him and his family, and wish him all the best. Central is losing a terrific professor and a good man. I hope he stays involved with Central in some area - teaching block classes or something.

"Our task today is to tell people — who no longer know what sin is...no longer see themselves as sinners, and no longer have room for these categories — that Christ died for sins of which they do not think they’re guilty." - David Wells

This is an outstanding appointment. Sam has experience as a senior pastor, vice-president of a college, president of a seminary, has two earned doctorates, and is a fine expositor. I think he will be an excellent complement to Steve Pettit. My prayer is that we can have a healthy fundamentalism. Steve and Sam, I believe, will take us in that direction.
