BJU announces independent ombudsman to review abuse cases

GRACE will act independently of the University and work directly with any possible complainants. In the meantime, GRACE can be contacted at grace.bobjones@netgrace.org.”

Discussion

It looks like the U is moving in the right direction and is no longer seeming to be tentative nor seems to be taking baby steps.

Hoping to shed more light than heat..

An independent contact/watchdog organization was supposedly the One Thing that would show once and for all that BJU is not a bastion of unspeakable evil… and the thing that would never happen because it is a bastion of evil.

… so where are all those attackers now? I hear crickets chirping.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

You’re right. The silence from man made noise is deafening. I hear the bull frogs croaking and the owls hooting.

I don’t see any downside.

One interesting detail I hadn’t realized before: when they put together the study group to evaluate the Univ’s policies etc., they included several from the community. Great idea… since you’d want how you’re perceived in the community to be a part of your process.

I caught that too.
