CEs Placed in Favorable Light By Another Established Fundamentalist Institution

I thought this was interesting in light of recent hubub about Kevin Bauder’s recent remarks about conservative evangelicals defense of the gospel. I just received the latest copy of PCC Update in the mail, and it features prominently (p. 2) an article entitled “Does the Church Need Change?” by none other than Albert Mohler. Since the publication is not available online, I am providing a scan of the first page below:

Again, just thought it was interesting.

Is there a Standard Fundamentalist Disclaimer somewhere in there?

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I had an SFD (Standard Fundamentalist Disclaimer) on file here so… available for anyone who needs one.

…but I have to wonder, did PCC change Mohler’s scripture quotations (assuming there were some) from the ESV or NIV to KJV? :) Just curious.

See… this is why we need a “like” button.

Cor meum tibi offero Domine prompte et sincere. ~ John Calvin

This becomes even more interesting with Marc Monte’s piece published over at Lou Martuneac’s blog- http://indefenseofthegospel.blogspot.com/2010/03/muddying-clearwaters-b…

Marc is listed in the same edition of the Update as teaching a class in the PCC seminary this summer. He condemns and accuses Kevin for a great many things, including consorting with his “beloved CEs.” This publication of an article by one of those “beloved CEs,” coupled with Monte teaching at an institution that served to bring attention to and build a theology of Scripture around the teachings of a committed Lutheran (the late Theodore Letis) puts these accusations in a different light, if you ask me.

Gotta love consistency.
