What to see in London?
My family and I will be visiting London this summer and I’d like to get some suggestions of things to see that might not make the standard tour guide. What I’m especially interested in would be things/places of Christian historical importance. So, for example, Bunhill Fields Burial Ground. Also, I’m planing on going to the British Museum, but want to make sure I don’t miss something of significance among all the other exhibits. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Day trips are OK, too, if we can go by train. This will be our first trip to Europe. Thanks!

Of course, the Metropolitan Tabernacle and Westminster Chapel, which Spurgeon and Martyn Lloyd-Jones pastored, respectively. The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms are a must see even though of more general historical import.

That is great that you are going Andy. I dragged my family through four countries including England last year. I consider Westminster Abbey to be the most interesting church I have ever been in by far. It is absolutely mind-numbing with the tombs, etc. We went to St Pauls as well and it was nice though not as interesting. Tower of London is perhaps a bit touristy but still you should go I think. Churchill Museum is indeed quite interesting.
Here is a big tip financially; it saved us a fortune. If you use the rail, you get into many of the big attractions like Tower of London and Churchill buy 1 get 1 free. there is a building next to Saint Pauls that has a restaurant at the top with a large platform/viewing area. You can ride the elevator and go on the viewing area free of charge. I don’t remember which side of St P, but ask around, probably other guides know about it. We got the tip from a guide we met on the subway.
another thing I did was walk the streets around Lincoln’s Inn Fields. If you are a fan of Dickens, this is where Bleak House was set. Very interesting place. The Lincoln’s Inn church was once pastored by John Donne, in the same location.
London has lots of interesting things to see, but I like it better outside of London in the countryside. Especially Wales where my granddaughters are!

All these ideas are great. I really appreciate it. We are going to have 5 full days, so day trips that we can do via train would be OK. I”m already thinking of going out to Oxford.
I’m heading on a church trip to Israel tonight, and we’ll have a day and a half or so in London on the way back, so I’m checking these suggestions out as well. Already added the Burial Ground to my list.
I found a YouTube video done from the Dome of St Pauls. The building I was talking about is in this screen grab. The restaurant is the grey walled section on the top, the platform/deck is all that flat area you can see there. Great views of the city, St Pauls, London Eye, etc, and a free elevator ride to the top (at least when we were there 6 years ago)

If you are still interested in this issue, the ban on visiting parks was recently lifted and you can visit Hyde Park.
