EU Calendar Omits Christian Holidays, While Noting Jewish, Muslim Celebrations

While Christian holidays are missing, Sikh Baisakhi-Day, Yom Kippur, and the Muslim holiday Aid-el-Kebir remain listed. In all fairness, the EU does claim that the omission of the Christian holidays was an error, but one must wonder whether the error was in leaving them off or in thinking it would not be noticed.

from http://www.europadiary.eu/docs/religions/EN_Statement.pdf] The Europa Diary and Religions :
The bottom of each diary page also features a note, citation, statistic or other short piece of information on a wide range of topics which may not be so widely known by European students. Some of these “page strips” refer to cultural, historical or religious events, although such events are not systematically covered.

This approach has led, with no deliberate intention, to the regrettable omission of important religious holidays and observances that are part of the European heritage, and in particular of Christmas and its importance in the Christian religion.
this isn’t a calandar or list of all holidays. it was supposed to be short notes scattered throughout the booklet with information that not everyone knows. if christmas were in the same group, the same group of complainers would find something new, like the EU thinks christmas is an oddball holiday.
