"These candidate represent nothing less than a truly radical break"?
I would say what we are facing today is a very radical break. This is a whiplash against the mess we have today. "Is the Constitution worth protecting"? Yes, but I would say it is under assault today. A mob storms the capital, harms people and damages property. They are seen on camera. They are charged, arrested and many plead guilty, openly weeping about the damage they did. Trump pardons them, seeks to setup a $1.8B fund to compensate them, and sets up an agreement between himself and his own justice department to give him and his family immunity from crimes that they have committed. He then creates lies about a group of vandals that destroyed another government property. Lies he knows were untrue because his own Interior Department contradicted his version of events. He continues those lies and then seeks to find innocent people that he can charge, throw into jail for upwards of 10 years, not because of their crime, but so that he can cover his lies and inflate his ego. This is just one of hundreds of the same issue where the government is quickly breaking. I am for others getting into government to hold checks and balances in place.
