Heavenly Wisdom vs. Earthly, Sensual, Devilish Wisdom

James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

In this verse, James clearly distinguishes heavenly wisdom from earthly, sensual, devilish wisdom. Correlating this statement with other passages concerning information that is demonic points us to the vital issue of our need to reject information, teaching, wisdom, etc. that is demonic.

Psalm 88: Did the Psalmist Leave His Prayer with Peace?

Psalm 88:1-18 has long been called “The Dark Night of the Soul.” The Psalmist begins feeling despondent and ends feeling despondent.

I am suggesting, that, in light of Philippians 4:4-8, the Psalmist probably did experience God’s peace by pouring out his soul, but it is possible to experience God’s peace and still be despondent.

What do you think about this? Any other thoughts on Psalm 88 or despondency?

James 2:2: Do they come in together or not?

Hi, I don’t really want to “debate” so I’m not sure if this is the right category. If the moderators want me to move it somewhere else, I will.

I wanted to find out if anyone has studied the book of James, specifically James 2:2, (NASB) “For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,… “?

Luke 14:5 "an ass, a son or a sheep"?

Luke 14:5 “an ass” or “a son” or “a sheep”?

Luke 14:5 - KJB - “And (Jesus) answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?”

NIV, RSV, NASB - “Then he asked them, “If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?”

John 9 Blind man healing

I am not a pastor, but I received the opportunity to preach recently. In preparation, I was thinking about the theme of dying to this world and living for Christ and the passage of the blind man being healed by Christ at the beginning of John 9 came to mind.

Who is on the Throne?

In Revelation 7:9, we read:
9fter this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.
Who is on the Throne? Is it the Father, or God as a Trinity with God the Son incarnate also seen as the Lamb? If it is the Father, where would you place the Spirit?

Is there a sense in which God the Son was also in heaven, even during the incarnation?

Isaiah 6:13 and Statistics

Isaiah 6:13 is ofen interpreted unnaturally, IMO. The verse reads:
