Isaiah 6:13 and Statistics

Isaiah 6:13 is ofen interpreted unnaturally, IMO. The verse reads:
Kitchen tells us that the vast majority of Jews remained in Judah during the Babylonian captivity (something that is not well publicized or taught). My inclination is to interpret this “tenth” remaining in the land as a result of the Destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD and the Bar Kockhba revolt ending in 135. But I am unsure about the statistic of the “tenth.”
Anyone else see it this way (as referring to first century events)? Any handy stats on percentages?
And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down,Most interpreters (like Young) seem to follow Ryrie:
so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”
After 70 years, a tenth would return….Yet every translation I have seen on this seems to say that a 10th would be LEFT in the land. I know that one could use ellipsis of thought and say, “A tenth of those deported would return and then be left in the land,” but that’s an awful lot of ellipsis.
