  1. Fifty-three percent of Protestants could not identify Martin Luther as the man who started the Protestant Reformation.
  2. Forty-five percent of Catholics did not know that their church teaches that the consecrated bread and wine in holy communion are not merely symbols, but actually become the body and blood of Christ.
  3. Forty-three percent of Jews did not know that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maimonides] Maimonides , one of the foremost rabbinical authorities and philosophers, was Jewish.

NewAnecdote

My husband pulled up this quiz at work and was talking about it with the guys. When they got to the question about transubstantiation, one of the guys did not believe that his church taught that the wafer and wine were not just symbols, but became the body and blood of Christ. So my dh called up the local Catholic church, got a priest on the phone, and asked. Sure enough, the priest explained that transubstantiation was the miraculous transformation of the host into the body and blood of Christ. The guy was NOT happy about that.

13 of 15. I missed #7 and #14. Which is really sad considering our small group homestudy did world religions not more than a year ago. :(
