Attention all Fundamentalist Baptist and Conservative evangelical Baptists.
I have to wonder if the Bible forbids a woman to preach in a street evangelism context. I do a bit of open air preaching and tract distribution. I have encouraged women in my singles group to also open air in their spare time. Since the context is outside the church and into the streets as a non formal church activity, I have to wonder if women are forbidden to preach or teach in this context. I asked CBMW what they say, and they will get back to me, as this is a tough question. I have seen Way of the Master women street preachers and for this context this may be okay for women to do if they are comfortable. What do you say?
Thanks..

Biblically speaking a woman is not teach or preach in the church (http://www.cerm.info/bible_studies/Theological/women_in_ministry.htm). However street evangelism and open air preaching on the streets is another matter (http://www.cerm.info/bible_studies/Topical/soul_winning.htm). I guess I am not fully decided if a woman can preach on the streets. CBMW did no get back to me, so maybe they did not know the answer.
Trying to persuade the gals in my singles group to even do this or street evangelism in general is like trying to pull teeth. Women tend to be more relational and they often see street evangelism is an ineffective form of evangelism.
