Just thought I'd ask other aspiring Christian writers what kinds of projects your working on.

I have one article almost ready, a novel idea with two characters fleshed out but not sure where I want them to go, another bare-bones idea for a novel, and a couple of ideas for devotional-type books. I'm not sure when or if the "ideas" will get beyond that point, but I take them out and fiddle with them now and then.

How about you?

Decision Making in the Church

Barbara,

I'm not a writer - yet I'm writing. I'm taking my D.Min terminal project which dealt with decision-making in the church and I'm expanding it to answer 3 questions. What is DM in the church (kind of a Biblical theology of DM); Who are the DMakers in the church (As we look especially at the NT what kind of decisions do we see the pastor-teacher make, the elders as a team making, the deacons make, the congregation, and the individual church member). The final two chapters deal with the question of "How." How should DM happen in the local church. The first round of writing is complete. Now I'm in the process of sending this project to some friends who will consider publishing and/or editing. This is not primarily about polity. Polity answers the question, if we can't make a decision, where is the final court of appeal - the congregation, the deacons, the elders, the senior pastor, a synod........... My hypothesis is that no matter what your form of polity is, by following the Biblical principles and practices of DM a congregation can have a health model in DM. There you go.

Straight Ahead!
