Inspired by a men's group book, God gave me the words as a lyricist for the Christian Songwriter's Network that would make a good creed for youth to rap to.

IT'S ALL DONE

IT’S ALL DONE.
Can I ever die to sin?
Now born again, I’m dead to sin.
IT’S ALL DONE.

The flesh I’m in is what I see,
But is not what is best for me.
I must not doubt, Christ is my all;
Believing so makes me stand tall.

IT’S ALL DONE.
When I die is when I live.
Given control, Jesus can live.
IT’S ALL DONE.

It’s all done, yet I’m the way,
This wretched one, God’s plan to say.
A saint’s been made by faith alone.
God’s glory can by me be shown.

IT’S ALL DONE.
Done today yet moving on.
A living faith that is turned on.
IT’S ALL DONE.
IT’S ALL DONE!

Some great themes

Some great themes in there... but I'll not be encouraging any youth to rap any time soon.
Why say one thing with the lyrics and say something so different with the musical idiom... when we could say the same thing with both (or at least come pretty close)?

But for the most part I like the words... I'd look for a classic time-tested tune (or one that sounds enduring but is new) and maybe replace "faith that is turned on" with something a litte less colloquial. There's really nothing cool about Christianity. No sense pretending. I think many of the teens are smart enough to know that, too.

Edit: on "creed"... I'd give 'em the Apostles' or the Chalcedonian.

appreciate the comments,

appreciate the comments, Aaron.

I don't understand "Why say one thing with the lyrics and say something so different with the musical idiom" though. I've not listened to much Christian rap, but really enjoyed The Altar Boys doing it.
