I was intrigued by his challenge to continue to memorize a verse at a time even if you do not retain what you memorize. I think this could easily fall into the category of meditating on the scriptures. The Bible itself does not command us to memorize it, but it does call for us to meditate upon it. This means keeping the scriptures within our minds. His approach fits with that challenge.
