Trump is Hilliary in a better suit with a worse haircut, and in the Oval Office, he'd tar an entire movement with his....polite words fail me here.    Idiocy, there we go.

Not to worry, Trump will get nowhere near the Oval Office, unless he is a guest to his long-time friend, President Hillary Clinton. He has absolutely no shot at winning a general election. He already is fully known, and his favorability/unfavorability is pretty well locked in. In fact one could argue that the only direction possible at this point is toward more unfavorability. In the state of Virginia in a recent poll, Trump had 64% unfavorability among likely voters in November. Virginia is a state the Republican candidate almost must win to have any shot at getting to 270 Electoral votes. But it gets worse. Here is a list I found of key battleground state polling. It reflects actual polling data in the last month or so and is shows a comparison how Trump vs. Hillary and Rubio vs. Hillary looks. Read these carefully:

AK: Trump 49 / Hillary 44 – R+5
AK: Rubio 57 / Hillary 40 – R+17

AZ: Trump 44 / Hillary 42 – R+2
AZ: Rubio 53 / Hillary 37 – R+16

CO: Trump 48 / Hillary 38 – R+10
CO: Rubio 52 / Hillary 36 – R+16

FL: Trump 38 / Hillary 45 – D+7
FL: Rubio 45 / Hillary 43 – R+2

IA: Trump 41 / Hillary 45 – D+4
IA: Rubio 47 / Hillary 42 – R+5

MI: Trump 41 / Hillary 43 – D+2
MI: Rubio 43 / Hillary 40 – R+3

MN: Trump 38 / Hillary 43  – D+5
MN: Rubio 49 / Hillary 40 – R+9

MO: Trump 48 / Hillary 39 – R+9
MO: Rubio 51 / Hillary 36 – R+15

MT: Trump 51 / Hillary 30 – R+19
MT: Rubio 57 / Hillary 29 – R+28

NH: Trump 38 / Hillary 45 – D+7
NH: Rubio 44 / Hillary 41 – R+3

OH: Trump 44 / Hillary 42 – R+2
OH: Rubio 47 / Hillary 42 – R+5

PA: Trump 43 / Hillary 47 – D+3
PA: Rubio 45 / Hillary 42 – R+3

UT: Trump 33 / Hillary 28 – R+5
UT: Rubio 48 / Hillary 21 – R+27

VA: Trump 35 / Hillary 52 – D+17
VA: Rubio 43 / Hillary 46 – D+3

WI: Trump 38 / Hillary 47 – D+9
WI: Rubio 44 / Hillary 45 – D+1

The message of these polls is loud and clear. Look even at New York state. Some Trump supporters have suggested he will win New York, but actual polls show he would lose it worse than Rubio would.

Furthermore, Trump has a huge gender gap--and its even showing up in the GOP primary results. Imagine how large that gap will be in the general election when the media suddenly goes hostile on him and he has to run against a woman.

So if Trump is the nominee, he will drag down the entire party, the Republicans would lose the senate majority, and Hillary Clinton would make then next three or four Supreme Court appointments, leaving a 7-2 liberal majority in place for the next 25 years.

In other words, nominate Trump, and the Republicans will have thrown away, with both hands, one of the easiest chances to win the presidency in a couple of generations. They will have thrown away the Supreme Court, and will have established one-party rule by the Democrats for years to come.

It is not too late, but the party would have to quickly unite around one of the non-Trumps and see that candidate win several states on March 1.

The Carnival Barker is an idiot we all know that but the guy I thought would run away with everything namely Mr Cruz. Cruz has himself in a pickle lately by using dishonest tactics to include fabricating a video regarding Rubio not supporting the bible. Wow one Christian brother putting the wood to another Christian brother.    Personally I can't stand Cruz and I have said that in other threads but again he is the only one who will truly say no to spending money.  I don't believe Trump or Rubuio will.  Neither one will address SSA or Medicare but CRuz will.  Even though that is my only reason for backing Cruz and in my mind the most important one Rubio seems to be the only one left all Republicans will get behind.  I have left the Republican Party due to the Iraq war mostly and the Tea Party's involvement with questionable Christians,  but I will probably vote for a Republican President unless it is Trump.  Then I won't vote at all.

....if our country is getting to the end of its rope with God.  We tolerate abortion, tolerate lawless politicians, encourage out of wedlock childbearing through taxes, regulation, and government programs.....He's waiting, but there will be a reckoning.  Maybe we're already seeing it because a huge portion of Americans can't see that Hilliary belongs in jail, and Trump is simply a tool for the Clintons.  Our nation used to be able to see through that kind of thing.

Theoretically possible for President Obama to pardon Hillary Clinton if she seems subject to criminal prosecution. Although the political consequences would be enormous, he would wait until after the election if Trump or another Republican becomes President. The Democrats would ride out any political fallout. A pardon would also prevent any sensitive information becoming public during the discovery process and trial. Remember that President Ford pardoned President Nixon. The Democrats face a potential disaster if Clinton is the nominee and FBI lawyers recommend legal action against her. If Trump, Clinton, & Sanders are the popular choices for most Americans, that reveals much about the moral condition of our country today. Sanders is popular because more people today have socialist leanings. Clinton is popular because of her gender and last name. Trump is popular because he verbalizes the frustration many have about the country. Very interesting times we live in!

When you say our nation is going to hell  you have to include believers in that equation.  A significant number are backing Trump.  What was it 74 % of the Republican voters in SC identified themselves as evangelical Christians and this is Bob Jones land and look how big Trump won.   So a good portion of believers are guilty for not seeing these people for what they are.   I think in another thread it was Mark Smith who said we should be concentrating on changing hearts in minds through Christ and the key to that is the local church.  I'm not saying don't vote yes vote and stand up for our rights but the political militancy that Christians have involved themselves via the Tea Party and the FRC has been one big fraud. The front and center of the Tea Party and the FRC has been Bill Gothard and the Duggers.   The head of the Tea Party in the past championed Gothard as a ministry to save the family in America. HUCKABEE has said the same. This  is who these people have held up as examples of an American family and ministry to save our country.  Mike HUCKABEE is up to his armpits with Gothard and the Duggers. So not seeing through to the evil and commonsense has happened to believers to.  I think the local church is the key and yes we may be seeing the last days and the setting up of the end times for our Lord to return. Now I don't think we should dwell on the negative I do believe we have a great country and as Christians we should thank God for what he has given us and pray that all in America will use commonsense.  That being said I'm watching the circus on TV and the Carnival Barker is center stage and it's been a total joke.  Poor Gov Kaisek and Ben Carson.  Trump has made the whole debate a three ring circus.

BJU has at some influence in the Greenville area and less so across the state. Even though I have serious reservations (to put it mildly) about where the current BJU leadership is taking the school, the "Bob Jones land" comment was unfair. Individual believers will make their own decisions about political issues and eventually be responsible for those decisions.

I did not mean to be disrespectful what I meant was you would think being in area heavily populated by Fundamental and Southern Baptist churches and Colleges Cruz should have  taken everything.  Iowa has a lot of Baptist churches and Christians but lot of them are just as diverse if not more so than SC.   I may be wrong about this but Cruz is a Fundamental Baptist.  So I guess my question was what happened?  How could Trump win.  It was greatly disappointing to me when Cruz flopped.  If he won he would have had a better chance on Super Tuesday If you want to talk about end times in my mind Cruz is the only last best chance to save this Country. The rest of these guys will cave in even if a Republican beats Hillary.  Rubio tonight is already kicking the can down the road on immigration SSA etc.  Rubio says we will wait and see on these issues. This country will go bankrupt in the next ten years.  The car is going to hit a brick wall.  We all saw what happened to Soviet Union.  We are next and I'm on a government pension and I expect my pension to be cut by at least 30 %   People on SSA can expect a 25% cut  For some  people that's all they have.  The house of cards is going to collapse.    I'm up to my armpits in debt putting three kids through private schools   Two went to Gordon   Bob Jones Gordon Liberty your talking 30 to 40 gs a year   Oh well enough screaming wolf. As you can see I was sorely disappointed when Cruz flopped in SC.  I still can't stand him personally but in my mind he is the only Fire Chief that can put the fire out.

Joe's comment about evangelicals (which in SC would include Southern Baptists, etc..) supporting Trump is what I'm getting at with asking "is God done with us as a nation?"  I would reckon that you would have found a number of people in ancient Israel in 587BC that would have been regulars at the Feasts who didn't clue in that their kings were louts, too.  We are losing our discernment.

Bert loosing decrement is putting it mildly.  There should have been a rally call in SC to support Cruz.  I know it is a tight rope College Adim walks with this political stuff but the students at BJU and any Southern Baptist Colleges should have rallied by the young Republican clubs stuffed on buses to be street warriors for Cruz.  All you would have to say is free cokes and Pizza all you can eat all weekend and boom and these young kids could have been a good ground game.  Heck give them the Friday off before the Monday election.  I'm sure we would have heard if this was done I heard nothing.  What happened.  Obama used a big ground game and won where was the big  ground game in SC for Cruz.
