"What is a Fundamentalist?" Seminar - March 21-22, 2019 in Stockton, California

just got this in and though it might be of interest some here.

“What is a Fundamentalist?” Seminar

As you know, Dr. David Innes has put together a two-day seminar focusing on Biblical Fundamentalism. He has presented this at our own church on several occasions, at various Bible Colleges & Seminaries, and on the mission field. It is the outflow of 57 years in pastoral ministry - 43 of which have been Hamilton Square Baptist Church in San Francisco. We believe it will be helpful to pastors and church leaders here in Northern California, and perhaps in other places in the future.

Pastor Stephen Kihlthau of Stockton Baptist Church - 5480 N Highway 99 has agreed to host this conference, and he and I have been inviting pastors from all over the state to the seminar. At this point, we have 47 names of pastors and church leaders who plan to attend!

The seminar begins at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 21, with the last session of the day starting at 7:00 pm. Lunch will be provided, but there will be time for a break between the last afternoon session and the 7 pm session on Thursday. Then, we will begin again on Friday, March 22 at 9:00 am, with the final session starting at 2:00 pm. Again, lunch will be provided.

There is no cost for the seminar, which includes 2 lunches, 24 pages of notes and charts, a thumb drive with additional notes for each church, and 10 hours of instructions with time for questions and answers.

We want to make sure we have adequately prepared for you. So, if you have not yet let us know that you are coming, please contact me or Pastor Kihlthau to let us know of your intentions. This is a rare opportunity for learning and growth. I know it has been extremely helpful to me, and I believe you will find it beneficial.

Discussion

there’s no interest in the seminar. Oh well.

Hoping to shed more light than heat..

I likely wouldn’t have gone, even if I were in the area. A better conference title: “What is a Faithful Christian in 2019?” I’d be interested in the eventual average age of the attendees.

Thanks for the link to the article on Machen. That was good. My favorite short thing he ever wrote is, “The Importance of Christian Scholarship” but I will need to read the one cited.

I’ll find out after the meeting. But, knowing the lay of the land in NorCal. It will skew younger than you think.

He said there were fifty pastors in attendance for a total of sixty in the audience. It drew from all spots on the spectrum. So, I’d say it skewed younger.

Glad some folks went.
