I didn't go to a secular school. Have these ministries been known to be competitive on college campuses?

Ive been involved in campus ministry over 10 years. So i have a good pulse on the other groups and what fudamental churches are doing. Here is my synopsis.

The parachurch denominational and non denominational groups are doing similar things on campus. Their practice is a match. Their doctrine will differ from group to group; they will compromise on certain things to bring their groups together. Alot has to do with accountability to the national level; if i dont see results they move me etc... They seek to grow their group independently from the other groups but will partner for blood drives, national prayer, campus events that uphold morality or common cause. Outside of Fellowship of Christian athletes, they tend to have their own bible studies and worship times.

As to fundamental groups, Probably less than 30 groups that are functioning effectively in the U.S. The best way to do campus ministry is from the local church. However, their are very few churches that make this a ministry. They are isolated from the campus. The church feels they are unreachable, to far gone, and do not benefit their congregation. Few Pastor's or churches will admit that last statement; but in reality this is truth from their actions. Well thats my 2 cents.
