"Vitruvian Man": Art or sacrilege?

“Artworks” shown include Anne Frank’s picture on a milk carton and a stack of coins covered with a condom. Weird Al sings a song about this kind of thing.

I understand the need for artworks that communicate a message, but really, someone needs to take these kids aside and explain to them that if their body of work is this kind of nonsense—or even features it prominently—good luck finding a job or selling artworks to the general public. (this is why NEA funding matters—it’s the only way these guys can get paid aside from patronage by tacky-Americans)

Or maybe better, just tell them “Great Work! Let’s do something featuring the Qu’ran or Mohammed—and sign it this time!”

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
